The Enhanced Mental Skills Test (EMST)
The EMST is the most effective telephone-based screening test on the market that identifies the very earliest stages of memory loss, also known as mild cognitive impairment. The test can identify differences between memory loss and the inability to concentrate due to depression, cerebral-vascular disease, or even lack of sleep.
Early identification of cognitive impairment allows people to start preventive treatment – drug treatments and lifestyle changes -- and to make better plans to continue living independently as long as possible.
